COD on an Xbox
I played a fair amount of COD when I still had a gaming PC. Since then, I've shifted all of my gaming to my Xbox. With Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare IV on the horizon, I'm keen on dipping back into that world. I know that most players slam the campaign, but I freaking love them. Cinematic as all hell, gorgeous to look at, and who doesn't want to be Price or Ghost for a few minutes? Plus, that Xbox is connected to my 4K TV, so I can't wait to see what this looks like.
What does concern me are my skill issues. Aiming with a mouse is easy. Point and click. Aiming with a controller? Hoo boy. I tell myself that it will be OK. I played Cyberpunk 2077 on my Xbox exclusively, but did lean on aim snapping and a slight nudge of the controller to pull up a headshot. Plus, CP2077 isn't Call of Duty, so I have no idea what COD will play like on a controller. Watching videos of people playing on a console are all fair and well, but your bog average gamer has far faster reflexes than I have, and is just better at gaming. Me? I think I'll be colouring my screen in using the aiming reticule. Smell that? Yup, a fresh whiff.
I have COD: Modern Warfare (2019) downloaded. That means that I am mere hours away from playing Clean House, by far my favourite mission in any game ever developed. This will follow hot the heels of my second favourite mission ever, the Al-Qatala attack on Piccadilly Circus. Come to think of it, almost all of the missions in that MW reboot are mint, and a great deal of fun to play. I just hope I can fucking aim. I'll be gutted if I can't role play an elite operative.
